Project description:

Castor is one of the largest battery energy storage systems (BESS) in the Netherlands at the time of commissioning in 2023. The BESS was developed by Semper Power and designed and built by Rolls-Royce.

 

Activities of Energy Solutions:

Energy Solutions performed the grid compliance study assigned by Rolls-Royce. In this study phase, amongst others, the dynamic behavior of the BESS is modeled during various grid disturbances. In addition, Energy Solutions supported Rolls-Royce with the grid compliance tests by preparing the test protocol, supervising the tests and drafting the test report.
